Areas of Practice

Criminal Law

We practice extensively in the criminal jurisdiction of the ACT, NSW and federal court systems.

Our solicitors are experienced criminal advocates, appearing each day at all levels of the court hierarchy, including the NSW Local Courts, the NSW Children’s Court, trial matters and appeals in the District Court of NSW and in the Supreme Court of NSW. Our clients have also enjoyed frequent success in the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

Our practice extends into the ACT, representing clients in the ACT Magistrates Court, the ACT Children’s Court, the ACT Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal.

We keep up to date on the latest developments in the criminal law to provide you with clear advice in relation to the proper conduct of your case.

We are also mindful that legal costs can be their own penalty – that is why we ensure that the right solicitor, with the right expertise, handles your case from start to finish.

In the more complex cases, Andrew Herring, an accredited specialist in advocacy (one of only a handful in the region) appears as in-house counsel. We have also developed strong working relationships with senior members of the NSW and ACT bar, should the need for an experienced barrister arise.

If you do not have the means to meet the costs of your representation in NSW courts, as members of the General Criminal Law and Serious Criminal Law panels appointed by the Legal Aid Commission of NSW, we are able to arrange grants of legal aid on your behalf.

To discuss your representation needs, please do not hesitate to contact Megan North.
